# Deleted activity recordings

> Troubleshoot access to recordings that were created under activities later deleted from a Moodle course.

If a BigBlueButton activity has been deleted, the references to the recordings may still exist in the Moodle database while the plugin remains installed.

## What controls visibility

An administrator can enable settings that allow recordings from deleted activities to appear in the interface.

Depending on the site:

* new activities may include those recordings by default
* existing activities may require the teacher to enable the option manually

## When this is useful

This is especially helpful when a course needs to recover access to recordings even though the original activity was removed.
