About Us - BigBlueButton

Hi there. We created BigBlueButton in 2007 with one mission: to build the world’s most effective platform for online virtual classes.

Why? We believe every student in the world deserves access to a high quality online learning experience. And we believe every educator deserves the best platform to deliver it. That platform is not a business-focused video conferencing system. You can see more about the differences between BigBlueButton and a video conferencing system at bigbluebutton.com. In building the platform, we built a company to offer software as a service hosting for BigBlueButton, which we provide in two flavours:

BigBlueButton Essentials — The core open source with a few value added capabilities.
BigBlueButton Enhanced — An enhanced hosted version of BigBlueButton with many capabilities to increase learning outcomes.
