On some BigBlueButton Essentials accounts, students cannot see other students’ webcams in regular sessions. Webcams still play a major role in the lecture in those configurations:
  1. Students can share their own webcams.
  2. Educators can see every student’s webcam.
  3. Students can see the instructor’s webcam.
  4. Students can see each other’s webcams in breakout rooms.
To make every webcam visible to every student — important in K12 — the instructor can share their screen while viewing the webcam strip. Students see the screen share and, in turn, see all the webcams from the instructor’s view. For a walkthrough, see Showing webcams through screen sharing.
